Welcome to the Blackboard e-Education platform—designed to enable educational innovations everywhere by connecting people and technology.
In July we will be blocking instructor access to 2016FA courses in order to update them. These updates address technical and ADA compliance issues as we ready courses for migration to the cloud environment and a new Blackboard service pack for that environment.
Provost Stinson outlined these steps to both the faculty Senate and to the division chairs and they are committed to this process. Some of you will remember that a similar process took place when we migrated from local servers to managed hosting by Blackboard.
We will begin cutting off access after the Independence Day holiday and will administer the updates thereafter. Some of the adjustments are system-wide, some are at the course level so the process will be somewhat protracted. We will work on WEB sections first, then HYBF and LEC. We will restore access on a rolling basis as work is completed and will try to have your back in your fall courses as soon as possible.
If you need tech support for Blackboard please go to http://lcsc.edusupportcenter.com/ -- we strongly recommend the Live Chat option for the best help. The Help Center is there for you 24/7. A support person will either help you or ticket your case and escalate it. You can call the center toll-free at 855-671-6899 but, again, we recommend Live Chat. There is no other phone number or web site so don't listen to anyone who tells you to call or visit another site. The e-Learning Services email is for interdepartmental communication, not Blackboard help.
There are FAQ, orientation information, and down-loadable student guide to Blackboard at http://www.lcsc.edu/e-learning/students/ but no live help.
